I’m Emma and before becoming a psychotherapist I spent nearly a decade working in IT, in the not-for-profit sector in London. However, I found myself drawn to roles where I could support people more directly, working with frontline teams who helped refugees and other vulnerable groups. Through my own experience of therapy during a difficult period, I discovered just how transformative the right support can be.
Before I started my formal training, I volunteered at a charity, working with people in suicidal crisis. It was humbling work that taught me the importance of truly being present with someone in their darkest moments. During my training I worked with those facing homelessness, supporting people with complex trauma, addiction, and serious mental health difficulties. I've also worked within an IAPT service, providing short-term therapy for adults referred through their GPs, and I supported staff within a school setting to navigate work-related and personal pressures.

What draws me to this work is simple: I'm genuinely interested in people and the unique dynamics of relationships that impact them. I believe therapy works best when it's collaborative, when you feel truly heard, and when there's space for you to explore things at your own pace. My approach is relational integrative which means I pay attention to our therapeutic relationship to support our work together and draw from different therapeutic models to adapt to what you need rather than following a rigid formula.
